Regularization - Other nationalities
The processing of a residence permit falls under the Ministry of Justice and Police. The Main Immigration Department handles all applications for residence and settlement, and applications for naturalization. This department also prepares the deportation of aliens who are not allowed to stay in Suriname.
In its permit policy regarding residence, Suriname makes a distinction between persons of Surinamese origin and persons of non-Surinamese origin, and you should be aware about this before applying for any status.
You can submit your application for residence, extension of residence, settlement or residence for an indefinite period and naturalization for persons who want to live and work in Suriname for longer than 90 days, through VZ Online.
Depending on the type of application, the processing time of your application can take up to 60 working days.
About naturalization by law, resolution and marriage, the processing time will partly depend on other authorities that are involved in the further processing of the type of application. These can be the Aliens Service (KPS) or the Ministry of the Interior.

This refers to those children and adolescents who are not traveling in the company of their legal representatives.
In the case of children and adolescents of Surinamese or foreign nationality with legal residency or in process of residency, shall require the express authorization of their legal representatives, by presenting a written consent form, signed by the parent(s) or guardian and a copy of the passport or national identity card of the parent(s) or guardian (must be attached).
In the case of children and adolescents of Surinamese or foreign nationality with legal residency or in process of residency, do not need specific requirements for travelling abroad with their legal representatives.
In the case of children and adolescents of Surinamese or foreign nationality with legal residency or in process of residency, shall require the express authorization of their legal representatives to travel alone with one parent or guardian, must show: evidence of parental/custodial and/or access rights and the consent of the parents. The written authorization must indicate that the parent has no objection to his or her children travelling with the other parent or guardian and if the consent is granted for a single or a multiple entry in the country.
