Temporary residence abroad:
Taking into consideration the health emergency situation, consult the possibility of its initiation at the headquarters of the Consular Representations.
Requirements:
. Complete the Sworn Declaration form for the application for temporary residence.
. Valid and current passport or ID and identity or certificate of nationality issued by a consular agent of the country of origin accredited in Bolivia.
. In case of need to prove a consanguinity relationship to start the process: Certificate or birth certificate certified by a consular agent of the country of origin accredited in Bolivia.
. In case of need to prove civil kinship relationship to start the process: marriage certificate issued by consular agent of the country of origin accredited in Bolivia.
. In the event that the applicant has been naturalized as a national of one of the MERCOSUR Party or associated countries: also submit a certificate or legalized copy of the document through which it was decided to grant nationality.
. Certificate that proves lack of judicial and/or criminal and/or police record in the country of origin or in which he/she would have resided during the last 5 years prior to his/her arrival in the country. Does not apply to people under 16 years of age.
. In the event that the person declares to have resided in Bolivia irregularly during the last 5 years, they must present a certificate of criminal records issued by the Judicial Registry of Criminal Records (REJAP). Does not apply to children under 16 years of age.
. Sworn statement of lack of international criminal and police record before the General Directorate of Migration; through the application of the Sworn Declaration form issued by the General Directorate. Does not apply to children under 16 years of age.
. Current photography 4x4 white background.
. Proof of payment of the cost of the procedure.
. The certificates that prove the lack of judicial and/or criminal and/or police records must be national or federal, as the case may be.
Formalities:
All documentation issued abroad must be legalized or certified by the apostille method and officially translated into Spanish.
The documentation to be submitted must be original.
The residence application affidavit form can be obtained from websites or offices of the General Directorate of Migration.

Permanent residence abroad:

It must be started within 90 days prior to the expiration of the Mercosur Temporary Residence.

Requirements:
. Affidavit Form for the application for permanent residence, obtained from the offices or websites of the General Directorate of Immigration.
. Valid and current passport or identity card or certificate of nationality issued by a consular agent of the member and associated countries of MERCOSUR.
. Proof of current two-year residence, in accordance with the terms of the Agreement. In case of loss or theft of the documentation through which the aforementioned residence is accredited and it is not registered in the DIGEMIG computer systems: present a certificate of definitive permanence issued by the DIGEMIG, prior to the start of the procedure (this information may be collected through the website: www.migración.gob.bo .
. Criminal record certificate – REJAP. Does not apply to people under 16 years of age.
. Prove lawful means of livelihood, through the presentation of documents depending on whether it is for work or family. More information in the link provided. If it is for another reason, present documentation that proves the activity carried out in Bolivian territory.
. Current 4x4 photograph with white background.
. Proof of payment of the cost of the procedure.
Formalities:
All documentation issued abroad must be legalized or certified by the apostille method when appropriate.

Temporary residence in the receiving country:
It is managed before the General Directorate of Migration, and it is a procedure that will be applied regardless of the migratory condition with which you have entered Bolivian territory and will imply the exemption from the payment of fines or other more onerous sanctions.
It has a cost and its validity is for a period of 2 years.
Requirements:
. Affidavit Form for temporary residence application.
