Residents of the twin cities can cross the border if fully vaccinated, only on Fridays, at 9am, 2pm, and 6pm. They must also present personal documentation and proof of address. Each vehicle can carry a maximum of four people.
Passengers from China:
All passengers 2 years of age or older must have a PCR or antigen test no more than two days before their departure from the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong or Macao, according to the statement from the Guyana Ministry of Health.

Visas are necessary for all visitors.
Types of visas
Is issued to visa-required foreigners who want to visit Guyana for the purpose of tourism. They are usually issued for 30 days at a time, although you can apply for another 30-day extension before the current visa expires. This means you can stay for up to three months in Guyana as a tourist on a single entry. Visitor Visa are valid for three (3) months if it is a Single-Entry Visa and for one (1) year if it a Multiple Entry Visa.
Is issued to persons coming to Guyana to take up employment with any local or foreign company based in Guyana. Employment Visa are valid for three (3) years and the application take four (4) weeks to process.
The Business Visa on Arrival is issued to persons who are desirous of establishing a business in Guyana. It is also issued to persons who are coming to Guyana for business purposes such as to attend meetings or train staff in use of the machineries purchases from foreign countries.
Overseas Missionaries coming to Guyana for voluntary services are also issued with Business Visa.
Business Visa are valid for five (5) years
Students desirous of studying at any Universities in Guyana are issued with Student Visa on Arrival. Student Visa are valid for three (3) years.
