Travel documents required for air entry:
It is necessary:
- Proof of vaccination for entry into the country, printed or electronically. A traveler who has completed the primary vaccination schedule (two doses or a single dose, according to the immunizer) is considered to have been fully vaccinated, at least 14 days before the date of departure. Vaccination vouchers in which the vaccine data are available exclusively in QR Code format or in any other coded language are not accepted. Likewise, certificates of recovery from Covid-19 are not accepted in lieu of proof of complete vaccination.
- Present travel document.
- Present the entry visa, when required by nationality and;
- Present International Certificate of Immunization when necessary by nationality.
Vaccination proof :
- it must be printed or electronically; (proofs that are exclusively in QR-CODE format will not be accepted), Brazilians can present the voucher through ConectSus .
- must contain the name of the traveller, the commercial name or name of the vaccine manufacturer, the batch number(s) of the applied dose(s) and the date(s) of application of the dose(s);
- vaccines approved by Anvisa, the World Health Organization (WHO) or the authority of the country in which the traveler was immunized are valid;
- the application of the single dose or the last dose of the primary vaccination schedule must have occurred at least 14 days before the date of shipment.
Visa:
Itamaraty is the agency responsible for granting visas, which can be requested through Brazilian embassies, consulates-general, consulates and vice-consulates abroad or electronically.
Children:
Children under the age of twelve who are traveling accompanied are exempt from presenting a document proving the performance of tests to screen for infection by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (covid-19), provided that all companions present documents with a negative result or non-detectable, laboratory-type RT-PCR or antigen test, performed within one day before departure/entry into the country.
Exceptions:
- the traveler with a health condition that contraindicates vaccination, as long as it is attested by a medical report;
- to those ineligible for vaccination according to age, according to criteria defined by the Ministry of Health in the National Plan for the Operationalization of Vaccination against Sars-Cov-2 (covid-19),
- the entry of a traveler into the country due to humanitarian issues,
- people from countries with low vaccination coverage ,
- nationals and foreigners residing in Brazilian territory who are not fully vaccinated.
Passengers and passengers included in the exceptions must:
1. Present to the airline responsible for the flight, one day before boarding, a document proving the performance of a laboratory test of the RT-PCR type , with a negative or non-reactive result, observing the following criteria
a) the document must be presented in Portuguese, Spanish or English;
b) the test must be carried out in a laboratory recognized by the health authority of the country of departure;
c) in the event of flights with connections or stopovers in which the traveler remains in a restricted area of the airport, the period of seventy-two hours will be considered in relation to boarding on the first leg of the trip;
d) a traveler who migrates more than 72 hours after performing the RT-PCR test must present a receipt for a new test with a negative or non-reactive result at the check-in for boarding.
Or submit a negative COVID-19 antigen test performed no later than 24 hours before departure from the first boarding point, which must be presented in Portuguese, Spanish or English.
Travel documents required for admission by sea:
The water transport of national or foreign travelers is allowed, exclusively in Brazilian jurisdictional waters, by means of cruises.
The disembarkation, authorized by the Federal Police, of sea crew for medical assistance or for connection for air return to the country of origin is also allowed for operational reasons or termination of the employment contract.
The disembarkation of this group is conditioned to the presentation of a term of responsibility for the expenses arising from the transshipment signed by the shipping agent, a document that attests to the performance of the RT-PCR laboratory test, with a negative or undetectable result, within 72 hours prior to embarkation, the previous consent of the local health authorities and the presentation of the respective air tickets.
To enter a cruise , the following documents are required:
- Full course of vaccination against Covid-19. As proof, it is essential to present the National Vaccination Certificate against Covid-19.
- Obligation to present a negative RT-PCR test performed up to 72 hours before shipment or an antigen test performed up to 24 hours before shipment.

A visa is a document issued by a Brazilian consulate abroad that allows foreign people to enter and stay in the country, provided that the conditions established by current legislation are met. The visa is granted by embassies, consulates-general, consulates, vice-consulates and, when authorized by the competent body of the Executive Branch, by commercial and representative offices of Brazil abroad.

This will be granted on a recreational or visiting basis for short stays, without the intention of establishing a place of residence for tourist, business, transit, artistic or sporting activities.
Immigrants holding this visa cannot exercise remunerated activity in Brazil, only in cases where the government, Brazilian employer or private entity pays daily allowances, subsistence allowances, fees, labor or other expenses arising from participation in sporting or artistic events. or prizes in cultural competitions.
Temporary visa
The temporary visa can be granted to immigrants who come to Brazil with the purpose of establishing residence for a determined period of time for study, work, health treatment, humanitarian reception, religious activities or volunteering, or even to invest in economic, social, scientific activities. , Activities of technical or cultural value.
It is also suitable for family reunification purposes, artistic or sporting activities, for fixed-term contract purposes, etc.
The duration of this type of visa can vary from 90 days to 1 year, or depending on the duration of an individual's employment contract or assignment.
Diplomatic, official and courtesy visa
Diplomatic, service and courtesy visas will be granted, extended or waived in accordance with the Migration Law and can be converted into residence permits.
Diplomatic and official visas are granted to foreign officials, employees and officials who transit through Brazil on official missions on a temporary or permanent basis on behalf of foreign countries or international organizations.
Brazilian labor legislation does not apply to the holder of this visa and is only permitted if the holder is a national of a country that ensures reciprocal treatment for Brazilians through diplomatic communication.
For the person holding a courtesy visa, under the protection of Brazilian labor legislation, he/she can only perform remunerated activities if he/she holds a diplomatic, official or courtesy visa related to it.
Permanent visa
To obtain a permanent visa, foreign persons must meet special requirements established in the immigration selection rules established by the National Immigration Council (CNIg).
Except in cases of force majeure, permanent visas can only be obtained in consular jurisdictions where the person concerned has resided for at least one year prior to the application.
The granting of a permanent visa cannot exceed five years for the exercise of a certain activity and is conditioned to having it carried out in a specific area of the national territory.
Requirements:
• Visa Application Form duly completed to be presented at a Brazilian Consular Post;
• Valid travel document;
• Proof of payment of consular fees;
• International certificate of vaccination (if necessary) and;
• Other documents specific to the type of visa requested.
